ERBIL – As the U.S.-led coalition intensified its air campaign on headquarters of the Islamic State (ISIS) extremist group, a new airstrike on Tuesday hit a jihadi training camp in northwestern Iraq, killing dozens of militants.

The raid bombed ISIS camp in the Baaj district west of Mosul city in Nineveh province.

“At least 25 jihadis were killed in the strike, including six German nationals,” pokesman of the Nineveh media center Raafat Zarari told ARA News.

The source added that the German jihadis were identified by the Sharia Court in Mosul subsequent to the airstrike.

“The Germans were training recruits in the Baaj jihadi camp when the airstrike targeted the area on Tuesday,” Zarari reported.

The bombed camp was one of the confidential locations were ISIS used to train its new recruits before transferring them to the battlefronts in Nineveh province, according to the source.
